The full documentary on Dennis Ohlsen with english subtitles. Shown on danish TV on the 16th of December 2013 on DR3. Instructor: Nikolaj Viborg

The documentary is about a young man returning from war in Afghanistan as a decorated veteran, facing normal life. Here he tries to find his place and acceptance in the "normal" world through base jumping.

2018 edit: There are 2 places in the documentary where there is no sound. This was due to us not having the legal rights to use them. It was either to remove the video or cut out the sound. Sorry for the inconvenience! Hope you still like it :)

Na de missionaris in Missie, laat David Van Reybrouck in deze nieuwe monoloog de militair aan het woord. Hij duikt daarvoor in een vergeten brok recente geschiedenis, de grootschalige Belgische militaire interventie in Somalië in 1992-93. Van Reybrouck doorploegde archieven en publicaties en interviewde paracommando’s die deelnamen aan deze missie, zowel officieren als gewone soldaten.

Para wordt aanklacht noch lofzang, maar onderzoekt de complexe tragiek van ‘internationale vredesoperaties'. Een verhaal over idealisme en onvermogen, over nobele doelstellingen en smerige praktijken.

Op het Nederlandse Theaterfestival 2018 kreeg hij voor zijn prestatie de Louis d'Or! Uit het juryrapport: "In Para is Bruno Vanden Broecke een acteur die zijn personage wórdt. Schuchter en onhandig lijkt hij te starten en grijpt gaandeweg de toeschouwer genadeloos bij de kladden."

Ook in Frankrijk krijgt Para lof toegewaaid: Théâtre de l'Union kent de voorstelling de Prix de coopérateurs toe, in de categorie 'Beste voorstelling van 2018/2019'.

DAYS WITHOUT DATES is a new play created by JESSA about the impact of war on an individual and a society from The Great War until today. DAYS WITHOUT DATES intertwines fragments of testimonies into a mixed media theatre performance in collaboration with renowned Belgian theatre company Braakland/ZheBilding and independent film maker Julie De Clercq.
